Weekend in Phu Quoc

Do the tour of the world in a week end in Phu Quoc. Good thing with the Covid-19 situation, the borders are closed and not many people around..

It is not the first time I visite this place and yet, It surprises me every time. Arrival around noon, check in is done at the Intercontinental Hotel.

The room is magnificent, pool view, the price is sensibly reduced for due to the situation, approx. 100 USD a night. We had a quick breakfast before leaving the hotel and visit the place

Some hours spent at Mango Bay, a drink on the beach in front of the sea, wonderful.

An authentic lunch with authentic local people, lovely.

Return to Venice, then to South Korea. A bad copy of Big Ben. What madness. There are boardwalks, restaurants, shops, ice cream parlors. And of course, all international hotel chains. Next to it, a huge amusement park, like at Disney!

I don't know the function of this building but it is amazingly made entirely with bamboos.

Nearby, there is a reproduction of Hue and Hoi An.

The Intercontinental hotel is magnificent, featuring very stylish designer parts. Thu Ha is my trip partner, she was the one who sold her magnificent Vietnamese marble to the hotel.

Breakfast with view

Well deserved return to the hotel after a walk on the beach for more than an hour. A few laps in the pool, which is huge. A shower and a dinner at the hotel with a very good white wine.

Let's go back to the local, on Sao Baie beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Phu Quoc,

In the south of the island, Sun Group is finishing the construction of a copy of an Italian city. I am completely shocked, hesitating between Naples and a bit of Florence. And it is immense.

It was a beautiful eek end break away from the vibrant life of Saigon, Phu Quoc is evolving but it is still one of the most beautiful places in Vietnam to visit.
